PRE-REMOVAL RISK ASSESSMENT LAWYERS
LAWGICAL LAW CORPORATION
A SERIOUS RISK DEMANDS SERIOUS LEGAL REPRESENTATION
Facing removal from Canada and afraid to return home? Your safety and future are on the line. If you have been given the opportunity to apply for a Pre-Removal Risk Assessment (PRRA), we can help you build a strong case for protection.
✅ Put your risks on the record. We prepare detailed legal submissions and supporting evidence to explain the dangers you face if returned.
✅ Work directly with an immigration lawyer. Get experienced legal guidance when the stakes are high.
✅ Be ready to fight a refusal. If your PRRA is refused, we can assess your options for Federal Court judicial review and an urgent request to stay your removal.
We are Lawyers NOT Consultants. A lawyer is trained to represent their clients by understanding the law and fighting cases in court. Anyone can become a consultant.
🔎 Government Warnings and Regulations about Consultants:
The Government of Canada has proposed new penalties for immigration consultants who break the law (IRCC, 2023).
Consultants are regulated by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC), which maintains a compensation fund to repay clients defrauded by consultants (CICC Compensation Fund).
If the system needs a repayment fund, you should ask: Do you really want to be represented by someone whose industry expects misconduct? (IRCC Rule Changes)

Frequently Asked Questions
Who are we?
Lawgical Law Corporation is a Canadian immigration law firm representing clients across Canada. We prepare PRRA applications, represent clients in refugee claims and appeals, and challenge refusals at the Federal Court. When your safety is on the line, we bring focused preparation and determined advocacy to your case.
What is a Pre-Removal Risk Assessment (PRRA)?
A PRRA assesses whether returning you to another country would expose you to persecution, torture, a risk to your life, or cruel and unusual treatment or punishment. It is an opportunity to explain the danger you face and provide supporting evidence.
CBSA gave me a PRRA package. What should I do now?
Act promptly. Keep your notification and note when you received it. Contact our office with the package and your previous immigration decisions so we can review your deadlines and begin preparing your case.
Will a PRRA stop my deportation?
An eligible first PRRA application submitted on time generally pauses removal while it is assessed. Late applications, subsequent applications, and applications at a port of entry do not receive the same automatic protection. We can check which rules apply to you.
How much time do I have to apply?
For a first PRRA, the usual deadlines are 15 days to submit the application form and 30 days to submit supporting evidence and written arguments. Service by mail can affect the calculation. Follow your notification and have the dates checked immediately.
My refugee claim was refused. Can I still get protection through a PRRA?
Yes, a previous refusal does not automatically end your options. You must be eligible for a PRRA, and special rules govern new evidence after a refusal. We review the earlier findings and assess what evidence can support your application.
What counts as new evidence?
New evidence may include recent threats, changed country conditions, or evidence you could not reasonably have presented earlier. A newly written document does not automatically qualify. We assess both the evidence and the explanation for why it was not previously available.
What documents do I need for my PRRA?
Useful documents can include threatening messages, witness statements, police or medical records, and country reports. Bring your identity documents and previous immigration decisions too. We help identify evidence that connects the danger directly to your circumstances.
Can I apply if I was found ineligible to make a refugee claim?
You may still qualify for a PRRA, depending on why your claim was ineligible. CBSA must notify you that you can apply. If your claim was never heard, different evidence rules may apply.
Will I have a hearing or an interview?
Most PRRAs are decided on written evidence and submissions. A hearing may be held in certain circumstances, including where a central credibility issue must be addressed. We prepare your written case thoroughly and represent you if a hearing is scheduled.
Can I work while my PRRA is being processed?
You may qualify for a work permit while a timely first PRRA is pending. Applying for a PRRA does not itself authorize you to work. We can review your existing permit and whether you qualify to apply for one.
What happens if my PRRA is approved?
In most cases, approval gives you protected person status, allowing you to apply for permanent residence. Some applicants receive a stay of removal instead, without protected person status. We can explain what your decision means and help with the next steps.
What happens if my PRRA is refused?
A refusal may be challenged through judicial review at the Federal Court. Filing that challenge does not automatically stop removal. An urgent court stay may also be necessary. We review the decision for legal errors and assess your options quickly.
What if CBSA has already scheduled my removal?
Contact our office immediately. Send your removal notice, PRRA notification, and any refusal decisions. We will assess whether a PRRA, a request to defer removal, or an urgent Federal Court stay application is available in your circumstances.
How much does a PRRA lawyer cost, and can you represent me outside BC?
We represent clients across Canada, with documents and appointments handled remotely. We provide a clear fee quote explaining the work covered and payment arrangements. Contact us with your PRRA package and deadlines so we can assess what your case requires.
